How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds – The Better Show

On the train to New York City, I thought about how many times I’ve come to Allrecipes for my children’s birthday parties, those sleepovers where Mom and Dad never get sleep, the graduations….whenever I needed an idea or a last minute recipe based on items in my fridge or pantry, Allrecipes.com has been there.

When I was asked if I would like to be on the Better TV show, I was more than happy to go.  I felt like it was an opportunity to give back to a company and site that has given me so much over the years.
The people at Better TV couldn’t have been nicer, and, of course, Allrecipes sent one of their finest to meet me on the set.  Cory was typical of everyone I’ve met through Allrecipes – warm, kind – as though I’ve known her my whole life.  Allrecipes has that effect on people.  It’s like that old friend you turn to when you need that great recipe or ideas for parties.  But, maybe most of that “old friend” feeling isn’t because the site is so dependable, but due to the fact that people like Cory are part of the mechanics of what creates such a successful site…with those who come to it and enjoy the fruits of all the labor and the community as being another large part.   Allrecipes listens to their audience.  They always strive to make better experiences…and that’s why we all like to come here…to visit our old friend.
As I stood there with JD Roberto from the Better show, all I could think is how much I wanted to do something well for a site that has given me so much in my personal life.  Food and recipes are such a large part of our lives.  We have to eat.  With the help of Allrecipes, many of us have eaten well.  Many of us have enjoyed the holidays, time with our families, and the thrill of having a recipe be super successful when we thought we might not be so good at making it.
With that, I hope all of you enjoy this segment on “How to Roast Pumpkin Seeds.”  Thanks again to Better TV for giving me the opportunity to represent Allrecipes…and THANK YOU, Allrecipes, for trusting me enough to give back a little to a site that has given me so much.
